I’m no wise man, but I love me some frankincense, gold, myrrh and other good things that come in threes; three cheese lasagna, a three drink minimum and the floating chords used to play all AC/DC songs.
Do you hear what I hear? It’s the drumbeat of a big, gay American Christmas jingling around the corner. Gay, as in happy and dressed up with stardust and tinsel. My favorite thing about the Pagan holidays is fruitcake. Don’t be mad. The Tao of fruitcake is how I like my music these days; dense, boozy and chewy. It’s a Kapha dosha thing. If you don’t like my dessert, maybe you’ll dig my advice.
Here is a trio of baking tips and along with a thick and moist playlist for you, wintry soul. December Solstice, holla.
>>Throw out last year’s spices or betta yet, sacrifice them to whip up homemade potpourri. Grind out new ones before you start baking.
>>Use the highest quality vanilla and butter. God wants you to have real butter. A wee pat on occasion will do you good. Find a local dairy that brags on being sustainable and kind.
>>Listen to these thirteen undulating tracks while you’re making sugar plums and mugs of hot buttered rum for your darlings.
