About the Teacher

Originally from Sydney Australia, Katie Brauer is known for her progressive approach and inspirational teaching style. Her introduction to yoga arose as a resource for rehabilitation from serious injuries sustained during her 7 year career as a professional snowboarder.

Katie’s classes are laced with dynamic flow, yoga philosophy, technical alignment and heartfelt humor. She is deeply inspired by surfing, love of the ocean and the intelligent rhythms of the fluid system of the body. She infuses her extensive studies in Craniosacral Therapy, Kung Fu and Somatic Movement into a progressive approach to yoga that invites students to feel inspired, aligned and fully alive, on and off the mat.

Currently based in the sparkling San Diego surf enclave of Cardiff-by-the-Sea, CA, Katie serves as the Director of Yoga Programming and Teacher Trainings for Yoga Six, leads workshops and works with private clients from high profile Olympians, professional athletes and celebrities to students in her weekly classes. Katie is a featured teacher on Gaiam TV and in her ongoing involvement in the community Katie serves as ambassador for Ritual Cleanse, Lulu Lemon, Toe Sox and Nika Water.
